The City of Lancaster is excited to present the results of the annual Kennedy Center Partnership of Lancaster County School District, See Lancaster, and Lancaster County Council of the Arts. Each year, art teachers in all Lancaster County schools work with their classes in the fall to develop designs. Designs are then collected and sent to a planning team to determine which will work best on banners and cubes. Lancaster County School District then coordinates six weeks in January and February for all students from each school to come downtown to Backstreet Studio and paint. While in town, they visit other studios, the Native American Studies Center, Springs House, and have lunch. The banners go up by March 1st for National Youth Art Month and remain through spring and early summer. These banners attract attention from as far away as New York. Kid's art can't be beat for originality, imagination, and energy so it makes sense the banners attract so much attention.
The City of Lancaster is so proud of all of the children that participate in art projects that beautify our City.
Congratulations to the ones that were selected to decorate our City!
